Finding comfortable and cute underwear and loungewear as a plus size person can feel impossible. Here are 5 items - underwear and more - from SKIMS that I'm currently loving as a Size 18 mom.
To be honest, I was a little skeptical of the SKIMS craze for awhile. But one day I was browsing the Nordstrom Anniversary sale in store and I came across the SKIMS section with a rack of pajama pants on clearance. After touching the material of the pajamas I knew that I had to bring them home with me to try out! And well I've kind of been hooked ever since. I've loved almost everything that I've ordered from SKIMS!
The SKIMS sizing can be a little bit confusing and I thought it would be helpful to gather up a round up my favorite SKIMS items that fit me as a Size 18. I also have realized lately that I almost exclusively reach for the SKIMS undies that I have in my drawers and my sensory sensitive self loves the way that they feel. I decided that I love them SO much I needed to devote an entire blog post so that I can share exactly what I've been loving and what I wish I would have known when I placed my first order.
This post is all about my favorite SKIMS items that I've been wearing non stop.
Hands down these are my favorite underwear. I love the way that they feel and how they stay on my butt and don't bunch up or slide off. That seems like such a basic requirement but you'd be surprised how hard it is to find the perfect pair of underwear. For me, these are them. I also am not a thong person so I love the boy short fit and I hardly notice underwear lines when I wear them. Or if they are they, these are simply just so comfortable I don't care. After purchasing one pair, I went back for 6 more.
FIT DETAILS: I pretty consistently wear a size XL in most other underwear brands (target, aerie, costco lol) but I take a 2x in these. In general, I size up in most of my SKIMS items and especially the underwear.

When I first got the bodysuits in the mail I looked at how big they were in the package and I thought "THERE IS NO WAY THIS IS GOING TO FIT ME" but there is some sort of strange magical stretch going on with the bodysuit material and it expands like Mary Poppins' magical bag. These "snatch" you in so much and I always feel so put together when I wear them. I love how bodysuits look under high-waist pants and skirts. I reach for both of these a lot. I frequently wear them at work with layers and have also worn them out on the town.
I have two versions of this bodysuit.
THIS STYLE
I love how chic the silhouette is on this cut of bodysuit. It feels really unique and this bold color is fun but it comes in all of the regular neutrals as well.
THIS STYLE
The other thing that I freaking LOVE about the T-shirt style is that IT HAS A REGULAR BRIEF BOTTOM AND NOT A THONG! I will sometimes wear underwear under my bodysuits and that is pretty much impossible if you have a bodysuit with the thong bottom.

ALERT THESE ARE CURRENTLY ON SALE FOR $30!!!!!!!
These were my SKIMS gateway purchase and I recently found another pair on clearance at Nordstrom and snagged those too so now I have two colors! They are SO comfortable and VERY long. I have long legs so I love them and can hike them up super high waist and they are still nice and long at the bottom.
I have this weird thing about pajama pants and I hate them when they ride up to the ankles and creep up higher and higher. These are opposite so if anything, you may need to hem or cut the bottoms off a little bit. I got the XL and they fit fine. I wear a size 18 in jeans so they see to fit "true to size" but I could also probably take the XXL and they'd be good too.

This dress is amazing. AMAZING. I know there are "dupes" out there that people have said are good but ya'll I don't care, I truly feel like ONE MILLION bucks when I put this dress on and it's so incredibly comfortable. I wish I would have had this dress when I was pregnant - I probably would have worn it all the time in every single color. Writing this up makes me want to try the slip dress version with the skinny straps.
This dress is perfect for layering under a jean jacket or a blazer if you want to dress it up. It's think so you could even put a sweater on top if you want to go for a maxi skirt lewk. It's great and I'm clearly passionate about how much I love this dress. Worth the slightly higher price tag for "just a dress" but it's THE dress. I promise.

I love this cropped rib tank so much and that was kind of a pleasant and unexpected surprise! I got it with the matching underwear briefs (INSERT LINK HERE) but the briefs are a LITTTTE bit tight at the waist and I wish I would have exchanged them for the next size up. I do like the way they look together but I tend to wear the lounge tank way more often. I truly lived in this tank the entire time I was sick with C19 last year.
The rib tank is ribbed and has a little bit of stretch so I find that I can wear it around the house without a bra and feel fairly supported - at least enough that I am comfortable rocking it around the house. I probably wouldn't wear it outside the house without a bra but that is just me and my own personal preferences. I love the cool mineral color that I ordered this in and I would consider grabbing another color with a different matching bottom in a larger size.
I have the tank in a size XL. It fits TTS (true to size) and I didn't feel like I needed to size up in this style. I would recommend sizing up in the briefs by at least one size.
